Details are slowly coming in on the Bethel Woods’ Woodstock anniversary event, a three-day celebration for the upcoming golden anniversary. This event is the more subdued out of the two major celebrations. Instead of replicating a large gathering of original musicians, Bethel Woods Center for the Arts has chosen a year-long programming event labeled as A Season of Song & Celebration. They are “inviting guests back to the garden to reflect on, learn about & commemorate the legacy of the greatest festival of all time.”
During the official anniversary week, the center will present:
- a screening of the documentary, Woodstock on Thursday, August 15th
- a performance by Ringo Starr and his All Star Band along with Arlo Guthrie on Friday, August 16th
- Santana and the Doobie Brothers will grace the Pavilion Stage on Saturday, August 17th
- Details for Sunday, August 18th are yet to be announced
Tickets are not yet available on the Bethel Woods website, but you can sign-up for updates here. Fans are still anxiously awaiting the release of details on the other Woodstock celebration Woodstock50.
